BJ's Brewhouse Blonde®: A Delightful, Refreshing Kolsch-Style Beer

German Kolsch beer is only brewed in Cologne, and that's why you're probably more familiar with Kolsch-Style beer here in the US. A little over 20 years ago, our Senior Vice President of Brewing Operations visited Cologne with his wife and discovered this unique style of pale beer. Alex Puchner knew right away that he wanted to bring this beer to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, and we're glad he did. BJ's Brewhouse Blonde® is a light and refreshing beer that's slightly malty and balanced with a delicate blend of hops. If you're new to the joys of craft brews, we think you'll agree that a pint of this German Kolsch-style beer is the ideal place to start, thanks to tantalizing smoothness and drinkability.

BJ's Brewhouse Blonde® Is a True Award-Winner

Recently, BJ's Brewhouse Blonde® earned the Silver Medal in the Light Ale segment at the 2018 North American Beer Awards in Reno and the Gold Medal for the Golden/Blonde segment in the Can Can Awards in Temple. In 2017, it earned Gold in the American Cream-Style Ale category at the L.A. International Beer Competition. That's three awards within the last two years, and the list goes on! This is one of our most award-winning beers, with more than 20 medals earned since we began craft brewing in 1996.

What Does BJ's Brewhouse Blonde® Pair Well With?

This unique Kolsch-style Light Beer always goes well by itself, but pairing it with a meal is another great way to enjoy a tasty experience. We recommend pairing BJ's Brewhouse Blonde® with BJ's Brewhouse Blonde® Fish 'n' Chips. In fact, the batter for the fish includes this delightful Light Beer. Crispy Calamari is another great dish to have with BJ's Brewhouse Blonde®. Ultimately, this beer goes well with nearly all our chicken and seafood dishes.
